I got a tooth!

Well,  I am once again among the non-gappy people. I have a temp tooth in my front hole, waiting to get a bridge made so I will permanently not be Appalachian-ified. Yesterday was awful, even though I did get my new chomper. My brother was incredibly ill, and he had to spend about 8 hours in the ER… only for them to tell him they don’t know what’s wrong. It’s a stomach ailment (you can guess the symptoms) and he’s in tons of pain. I’m pretty sure it’s a gluten intolerance or Crohn’s Disease, but the CAT scan he had showed no scarring, etc. They gave him some anti-spasmodics and told him to wait to see a gastro.

What is it with the medical profession and my family? It seems as if no one can tell us what’s wrong with our faulty bodies. I hope that he has better luck finding a “cure” for his problem than I have all these long (10) years. It’s just not fair to see someone you love going through the same issues you have.

On the gluten-free front, I’m doing surprisingly well. Except for the fortune cookie incident, I’ve been able to avoid all allergens and seem to be doing ok - better than ok, actually - I’m feeling a difference. I have more energy! While the pain’s still there (particularly in my back) I do feel as if something has lifted. I’ve also found out that there really are foods I can eat everywhere - even fast food like Wendy’s. Not that I’m planning to make a habit of that, as I still need to lose weight. I do feel uplifted, however. I plan to try making some gluten free items this weekend.
