And We’re Back

On a shiny new MacBook. It’s bigger than my old machine, and has a much different keyboard that’s causing me a little difficulty with the typing. It seems like my fingers wore just the right grooves in my last keyboard (kind of like a butt print in the couch). Oh well, I guess I’ll get used to these keys - at least they’re not clicky (think old Windows 95 keyboards).

We’re infested with the weirdest bugs right now in this house. Not ants, and nothing like the Great Fruit Fly Invasion of ‘06, we have… millipedes. Little crunchy millipedes that are annoying, reticulated and multi-legged. After some research I found out that millipedes are not poisonous, or even bite-y. They evidently have the potential to be stinky after being crushed (I haven’t put my nose close enough to one to find out). There is no known cure - poisoning the suckers will just make my garden be polluted and my dog sick, they’ll come back after 48 hours. We just have to wait them out. And flush a lot of little crawly bugs. I’m sure the moist conditions of the last few weeks haven’t helped any. Too bad Dakota won’t eat them (he often lunches on ants and flies, a la carte).
