Live Earth.

So I’m watching the abbreviated version of Live Earth right now - a world event. The poor dudes who had to play on Antarctica… sheesh. I’m still not sold on the fact that the consumption of energy needed for this event, combined with the obvious large amounts of jet fuel and gasoline, diesel and more is what Earth NEEDS. What we need is for people to wise up and think logically. Don’t use more than you have to, and stop whining about it. If we just put some restrictions on usage for companies (I’m not even talking at home!) we’d save so very much in energy costs, fossil fuels and trash production. But no… because politics are run by big business, there will never be restrictions on businesses.

I’m so jaded - when did I get this way? I still recycle, I still reuse bags and use cloth bags when possible. We have all of those fluorescent bulb thingies instead of incandescent. We don’t consume extra gas by putting on the AC in the car, and don’t have an AC at home. But are we really making a dent when just down the road, factories belch out pollutants and fast food restaurants create more non-biodegradable trash than we do in a year? MAKE BUSINESSES CHANGE. It’s the only way this will work.
